Project Summary

Stalworth Underground installed 62 straight shaft caissons for an enclosed pedestrian walk bridge from multiple buildings at Walgreen's corporate headquarters. These shafts were drilled to a depth of 40'0" from grade to support the glass enclosure walk bridge. The drilling took place in an active parking lot with hundreds of daily workers, making access and movability very difficult. By offering a VE design to reduce the caisson lengths we were able to complete the drilling in fewer days and under budget for the Client and Owner.
